I stood at the airport terminal, waiting for her plane to arrive. I had been waiting here for about two hours already, her plane was late. All around me the people moved in a rhythm all of their own. I sighed as I shifted in my seat wondering how much longer this was going to take. My eyes started the get heavy and before I knew it I had drifted off in my seat.
“Chrissy?”
My eyes fluttered open and I saw a girl a little bit taller than me standing in front of me.
She smiled when she saw that I was awake.
“Hey Ash!”
“Was I that late?” Ash giggled.
I laughed. She has medium length blonde hair, with blue eyes. She was wearing a white shirt with bleach stained blue jeans. She was the total opposite of me. While she had blonde hair I was wearing a stylish short cut, dyed black, and while she had blue eyes I had beautiful brown ones. Her makeup was also very soft, but mine was dark. I like it dark. She also had pretty good looking teeth while I sported some sexy braces. I also dressed with a little darker clothing. I loved black and dark blue, while it was obvious that she was a huge fan of the colour pink. Throughout all of our differences we began friends. I guess that’s what the internet does. It equalizes everyone to the same level. They are no stereotypes, just peoples personalities, which in the end, is really what matters most.
I got up from my chair and me and Ash started to walk together.
“So where are we going?” Ash asked me.
“Back to my place, it’s not too far so we can jus walk there.”
“Sounds good to me.”
We got out of the airport a long time ago and we had been walked for a really long time. I was starting to think what Ash thought about me. Like, if she thought it might have been a mistake to come here. Since we never really talked except on the internet, we were so different I was wondering if this was such a good idea. We were starting to head down a short dirt road which would eventually lead us to my house.
It was starting to get dark before we were just a couple houses away from mine.
“Hey, what’s that?” Ash pointed to a small ball of fur.
We ran over to it together, and kneeled down to get a better look. I touched it and it let out a soft meow.
“It’s a kitten.” Ash said.
“Ya and it looks like he’s really skinny. He needs some food.”
“Why don’t we take him back to your house?”
“I’m not so sure my parents would allow that.”
Ash looked around her, “We can’t just leave him out here. Can’t we sneak him in or something?”
I looked at the cute ball of fur, and felt my heart pang. I had a soft spot for animals but for cats especially. “Ok.”
Ash took out a towel from her big purse and we wrapped him around in it.
“He’s so cute.” She said.
It started to rain and I found myself running back to my house. I keep looking back every-so-often to make sure Ash and the kitten was ok. It was great that we had found the poor little thing and that we were going to take care of it. But… getting him past my parents was another thing. I looked up ahead and I could see my house. “We’re almost there!” I yelled back to Ash.
When we reached the door step Ash quickly opened her purse and put the kitten inside, making sure to leave her purse open so the kitten would be able to breath. “Are you sure this is going to work?” I asked her.
“He’ll be fine in there. It’s a good thing I decided to go with this purse. As long as we don’t have to talk to your parents too long he should be alright.”
I opened the door and me and Ash walked inside. “I’m home.”
There was no answer. “I guess there’s no one home. Let’s hurry and go up to my room before my parents get back.”
Me and Ash ran upstairs and went into my bedroom. We sat on my bed and let the kitten out of Ash’s purse. “Wow, you sure have a messy room.”
“Ya, ya” I giggled.
The night grew long and we stayed up taking care of the little kitten. We decided to name him Bruce. There were a couple close-calls with my parents but Ash was able to hide Bruce before my parents came into my room. We stayed up all night talking a lot just about stuff. We were really getting along great. Like we had been friends for years. I was starting to think that Ash coming here was a great idea, and that we were going to have a lot of fun in the coming week.

Life doesn't give you the people you want, it gives you the people you need: to help you, to hurt you, to love you, to leave you, and to make you into the person you were meant to be.
I don't even use a purse XD So I guess I wouldn't know! Hahah, that's awesome though
